FAQ's
Here are a few of the frequently asked questions i get and some more information that is relevant to counselling here.
How sessions are conducted
Sessions are conducted online via Google Meets. Once a session is booked in, you will be sent a link for the meeting. You do not need to download anything, just have a webcam and a stable connection.
If you would prefer telephone counselling, please let me know in advance. I do not offer face to face counselling at this time.
Payments
Payments are made via bank transfer. Payment details will be sent over when you make your first booking. Payments are to be made for a session 48+ hours in advance to secure your session. I will send a reminder if i haven't received it, otherwise there is a risk that the session will be allocated to someone else.
Booking a session
Bookings can be done via my Calendly link in the bookings section. Or alternatively you can email me at michelle@athenacounselling.com. If you would like to have a specific time slot each week, please let me know, otherwise bookings are flexible.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel your session for any reason, please let me know as soon as possible. Sessions cancelled with less than 24hrs notice will be charged at the full session fee as i am unable to fill that slot with such short notice.
Conduct
Please ensure that you are not under the influence of drugs or alcohol for our session. I cannot work effectively with you under the influence and you cannot give informed consent for things you might disclose in a session with me. I understand that sometimes we need these sorts of coping mechanisms, but please keep it out of our sessions so that it can be a truly safe space for us both.
